Preserving Cultural Heritage:

Continuity and re-connection to our Past are inherent Values in Human Nature.

The remains of the past constitute culture and cultural heritage. Our Cultural Past gives us a sense of who we are, a connection and belonging to our National Pride.

According to one Source on 18th February 2022, the Power Station has now been Sold to a somewhat Mystery Buyer.

Using Photogrammetry Software Agisoft:

Using Agisoft Hierarchical Tiled Model Format is a great solution for Building & City scale modeling of this Size.

Other Technology used in Digital Preservation:

Other Forms of Tech used today include and are not limited to:

  • Virtual and Augmented Reality – This can be used to Allow users to Experience a Site, as if they were there themselves.
  • LIDAR or Laser Scanning – Can be used specifically to provide Accurate Dimensions of a certain Site.
  • 3D Modelling – There are now many Platforms and Software’s’ that can process Data into an easy to use 3D Model.
  • GIS – Can help to Study a Site over time and Map out certain Features, while very easy to use.

Future Plans for the Power Station:

Talks of Redevelopment of the Site, have included talks of seen as costly and would require experience with developing a heritage site.

Ideas that have been throw around recently, include creating a nearby outdoor cinema, cultural and art displays, lighting set ups, extreme sports events, private cocktail, wedding or dinner function spaces and hotels.
